The Route The original plan was to cross the Hohen Tauern from east to west, passing close to Hochalmspitze, Ankogel, Sonnblick, Glockner and Venediger groups, and culminating in an ascent of the Venediger. Unfortunately poor weather caused drastic day-to-day revision of the route, and none of the planned ascents were made. However we did make ascents of Kasteneck (2824) and Roten Kogel (2762).
